Step-by-Step Guide to Installing the Canon LBP2900 Printer Driver on MacBook

1. Visit the Canon support page for the LBP3000 printer and download the driver corresponding to your macOS version.

2. If you're running macOS High Sierra (10.13), Mojave (10.14 or above), Sonoma (14.0 or above), Sequoia (15.0 or above) download the appropriate patch.

3. Unzip the patch files. Then open Finder and use Go → Go to Folder... to navigate to: /Library/Printers/Canon/CUPSCAPT2/Bidi/

Copy the two patch files into this folder, replacing any existing files and entering your admin password if prompted.

4. Repeat the process for the folder: /Library/Printers/Canon/CUPSCAPT2/cnaccm/

5. Restart your Mac

6. Connect the Canon LBP2900 via USB. Go to System Settings > Printers & Scanners, click “Add Printer, Scanners, or Fax” to add a printer.

7. Select Canon LBP2900, then choose Select Software... under the “Use” dropdown.

8. Pick Canon LBP3000 CAPT from the list, click OK, then Add to complete the setup.
